I now have the Walthers HO kits I intend to use for my station area. They
are 2 of the Milwaukee Shed kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/350583167338 and 2
(for now) of the umbrella sheds. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390471255935 This
concept is pretty firm at this point. I am making concrete extensions to
raise it all up maybe ½”. That all just has to be executed. Next up is
picking and buying the station itself which will be on the backdrop. I have
a real 1 inch or less to represent the station. I sort of like the Union
station http://www.ebay.com/itm/200821630447 because it reminds me of 30th
Street.

There are 2 yards tracks between the backdrop and what I am considering to
be a station shed tracks that will be busy in switching the REA area to the
right and from the enginehouse at left.
http://www.lanestrains.com/My_Layout_Photos/New_Station_Sidewalk.jpg The
station might be in the area of the bridge girders. When I first thought
about this area I envisioned a people bridge like in Harrisburg joining the
station to the shed. Since I don’t have much in the way of structure skills
I now think this concept should be greatly simplified somehow. Keeping it
simple gets it done faster as well!

But how to tie the station building on the backdrop 2 tracks away into the
shed scene? Would it be accepted practice to have all of the passengers walk
across 2 active yard tracks to gain access to the train shed? It is simple
to show but it does not seem overly plausible. Since this is such a unique
issue to me it might be better to reply directly to [email protected]
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
