Thanks for all of the replies. It 1 does delaminate I will replace it with
solid stock.

 

There are no stub turnouts on my PRR/PRSL/Reading/B&O railroad! I have seen
tabs on the point rails with nuts and bolts. It pivots perfectly but that is
a lot of work!

 

Since I am using the Hankscraft stall motors I just power it up and the
throw bar is held in place while I solder it. That does allow for the points
to sit as perfectly as possible while I solder. I use 1 of my PBL Hotip 300w
units for **all** of my soldering so heat is not an issue. It's kind of big
and cumbersome in a "portable" application but it does a killer job. I don't
think anyone could do much of anything to the SHS rail with an average
soldering pencil. You have to get its attention pretty fast or you will be
melting ties and probably still have bad or cold solder joints.
