Do I understand right that it may as well to sell the steps in sets of six; I'd
have to check to see if any loco would take a different number of them for each
unit. Come to think of it, B-units could take 8 steps each. DJE

Bill, This was exactly my plan, cut off all the cast on plastic ones, replace
with brass. I approached Rusty a couple months ago with this request for the
brass steps with integral mounting pins. The idea was not my own. Years back
Kent Singer came up with the idea of replacing the original Enhorning plastic
steps, that broke off with regularity, by drilling the uprights and acc'ng
music wire pins into the broken steps. These were then pinned into drilled
holes in the bottom of the shell sides. This worked but was ripe for an
improvement, hence the request for brass ones.
These steps are also perfect for replacing the Am Models FP-7 steps which are
not even close in shape to EMD steps. To Enhorning's credit, their original
castings at least had that part right.
