Bill, We did have a roof and one wall. The station itself is a stub-end that probably had 8 tracks. I think we would have been protected from anything but a strong driving rain. Of course, ice, and sleet would be another matter.

On that same note, several years ago several of the HO clubs set up at a large furniture store turned into a flea market. A major roof leak on their layouts resulted in all club members moving the setup in one quick move.

Inside what was probably a baggage storage room was a full height photo mural of some ATSF PA's in the station. It hosted the MP and ATSF. I don't think the MKT or the SP had much passenger business onto the island. I've been told the MP used a single PA with 2-3 cars to connect with Eagle service in Houston.

Bob

Bob & Peter,

Wow they treat their clubs well when it comes to setting up. I would have said no roof and walls - no trains.

Back in the day CJSS used to do the Liberty State Park show in the CNJ terminal. More than once we had the worst accommodations. There was no glass in the windows and rain water on the floor but we had a roof!

Thank You,
Bill Lane
