No, the headlights do not tilt. The models are not yet finished. I still have
to install the speaker and weight in the boiler, add the DCC and sound, plus
all of the number board, train indicator board, marker lights, head lights and
MARS light needs to be installed. The boiler fronts will be vertical when I am
done and there will be no tilt.
The model on the left is typical of the GS-4 model as they came from the
factory, they tend to fall apart in the box. When I first opened the box there
were several loose parts that had fallen off, especially the side skirts.
I've painted three of these and they all need some rebuilding just to get
back together to paint. The rear of the tender on all of them are wrong. Ajin
used "O" scale and "HO" scale parts along with "S" scale when these were built.
I've never seen one that has the axles parallel in the tender truck frames. I
don't think they ever could be as built.
The boiler as built by Ajin is a multi piece assembly. My rebuilt model on the
right is all one piece. The most obvious part of that is the front steps.
