Bill: Check out the photos in the article - H30/H30a/H32; all friction bearing trucks - a couple in Penn Central paint. I'm sure the Pennsy used RB trucks on some but just as sure that all the H30a hoppers weren't built with them...

Even after that date, CR kept the cars in home-road Sand Service with friction bearing trucks. Thompson and I took photos of one at the former Raritan River RR(?) interchange near South Amboy in the mid-80's...
