As long as your trains were S and scale he would give you the shirt off of his back. He opened his basement every Thursday night for anyone to come run trains or just hang-out and talk S. A curator of our history, he took great pride in his collection of models from the 1930's up to the present. It was a wonder to watch him work a potential S newbie handing them a paper printed tank car side or a loco built from wood and then walking them through time up to the latest and greatest River Raisin brass. I'd say S and the Northern Ohio S Scalers lost one of the most positive lights in our universe. It is the end of an era for those of us in Northeast Ohio but I think we all carry a bit of the joy of S Scale Jack expressed on with us into the future. Chris Borgmeyer
