I understand that we live in a society that fosters the
philosophy of "Buyer Beware" and I try to take precautions. I wish
others that have negative issues with businesses would publicize
their complaints to help us "Buyers" to "Beware" of these businesses. If we
don't inform each other as members of a hobby, we are allowing them
to continue their bad practices and take advantage of us. Our
silence lines their wallets!
Several years ago, a few of us had an issue with an individual in
NY that was converting O Scale Big Boys to S. The Attorney
General's Office in NY was of little use because the individual
conveniently used a post office address, and I was told that NY
statute protected them from small claims court. Fortunately, the
individual was a TCA member as was I, and after this business was
ignoring and rude to the TCA investigator, TCA banned this person
from setting up at York until he settled with us to our
satisfaction which was a refund and return of our locomotives.
If others who have had bad dealings with LBR Enterprises or Dave Benson would
contact either of us, maybe we could provide a united front to retrieve our
products and payment.
