I got an answer from Lionel regarding my point blank question about the future
of scale wheels on new Flyer.
Here is the response:
"Unfortunately at this time we will not be manufacturing scale wheels for our
new American Flyer products.

Lionel"
Scale wheeled American Flyer: Born 2011, Died 2012.
Any further debate about the merits of Lionel in S Scale is moot.
Lionel has surrendered after firing one shot. We can only hope that MTH takes
FULL advantage of the opportunity now.
