I still have power for now, so let’s post some good news over what has been
on the real news, and the latest Lionel/MTH “what are they making” wheel
fiasco here.

Attached are the new PRR steam loco decals I had made for the last era of
PRR steam. This is absolutely my “DREAM set” I have waited for over 4 years
to get made. They were printed by Microscale. Each sheet represents ½ of a
locomotive but technically you can easily decal 2+ locos from 1 set. There
are 75 canned ready to use numbers with corresponding headlight numberboard
and back of cab decals. The lettering color has been PRR guru approved.

Each number was picked by me after truly many DAYS of research - some might
call it obsessive- and looking all of my photo collection and books. If you
had the Edson roster you will see that almost all were running rather late
in steam, and had a connection with the PRSL and/or the Philadelphia area. I
went a little crazy on K4 numbers. My next K4 is likely to be 295 because it
had antennas, and I live about a mile from RT 295!

Note the instruction sheet/number map. It identifies the numbers picked to
the loco class, and also the length of the “Pennsylvania” lettering
identified to the class of tender. This is a first for me! What a great
asset that sheet is!

I mostly picked locomotives that already exist in S but there is very some
wishful thinking. About ½ of the loco classes represented do not exist at
all or very easily in S. If Lionel or MTH makes them I am ready to go. I
also have my cast numberplates already done or designed for most of the
numbers. Since I used ½ of a sheet that allowed for LOTS of numbers.

I absolutely do not believe in random number dribble in making decal sets.
It is a complete waste of space. In a set like this every number has to be
represented many times over. Give me decals out I can cut out and use as is.
If you have decaled as many cars as I have you have been through “scissors
hell” decal sets. I have often thought that the people that make decal sets
don’t actually use them! No thanks!

A friend made these decals for me as a huge favor. There are 250 sheets
total printed, and likely to not be run again, because that would mean
another 250 sheets. The who and how of purchasing them from my friend still
remains to be finalized. Believe it or not, I don’t have 125 locos to still
finish. So some sets should eventually be available for my SPF Brothers once
it is all resolved. Give me a little time & I will get it worked out.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
