From: Alan Lambert Fort Worth, Texas I agree. The Y-3 is better cale wise than the bigboy. My club has Bill Clark as a member. If you Have The S Gaugian magizineyou know who he is by his"The roundhouse" article. He is evaluating One for Lionel now. Look at Lone Star Flyers Club website. "www.lonestarflyer.com ". It ran on our Northern loop without problems . We even have t where we can shorten the loop with a standard curve radius. No problems. We had it running at our Plano, Texas train show. ALL texas members on this list missed an oportunity to see one running. Alan Lambert

We did not have 20,000 show up, more like 5 S scalers, possibly 7. Lots of used brass for sale,,,,, CHEAP..... N&W 2-6-6-4 , 2 of them $850 each, SP GS-4 painted Daylight for $850. Even a PRR decapod for $800, UP 4-8-4 for $850. I think we had one S scaler from St Louis Missouri and one from Florida. The other 2 or 3 were from the West Coast. OK, So Arizona and Nevada isn't really on the west coast but close enough. It did sprinkle a little and got down to the frigid low 50's. The sun was out and shining during the afternoon but it only got up to 63,,,, so the weather was terrible. I heard one complaint about the 50% humidity. It usually is 50% here --ALL-- the time, no matter what the temperature is. I know that is the main reason no one likes to visit here. The weather is,,,,,,,,,, boring,,,,,,,,extremely boring,,,,,,,,,,, I think the other reason is the Mosquitos, they are so hard to find during the summer months. Just ask McCoy. When he was here I could only find one flying bug and that one just would not bother him. I remember being a kid in Nebraska and my dad's Ford. The radiator would get plugged with bug butts so bad that old Flathead would overheat and boil over. I keep looking at my GMC,,,, and nothing, no bugs at all! I should move to North Dakota. I had the opportunity to play with the Y-3 last week thanks to Ed L. and Fred R. I do have some old AF but I will never admit to it in public. I am an S Scaler!!!! This new Y-3 isn't the same as the old AF, not even close. I ran it on an old 30B AF transformer. No whistle or bell but the rest of the sound worked just fine, and it looks scale. It ---DOES NOT---, look like that piece of ---- that was brought in posing as a UP big boy. Rusty, or whatever.
