To be fair, I over-simplified the issue, which partly (or maybe mostly) had to
do with electrical ratings under DCC as well as availability at your local
Radio Shack. If anyone is interested in the discussion, or in seeing the module
standards updated, I suggest joining the group at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Mod

and reading the archive. If you have anything to add at that point, I'm sure
Don DeWitt and the other members will be interested. This is not to say that
modules are OT here, but there is little point in re-hashing issues that have
already been covered elsewhere.

You might not see them at train shows, but they are certainly around. You can
usually find new or used connectors at amateur radio swaps.  Ken Garber

. . . . . . . .  The most recent effort to update the module
specs (with it's own Yahoo group) spawned a couple of new modules but bogged
down over a change from the old Cinch-Jones connectors
(increasingly hard to find) to newer "power
pole" .. . . . .

I added Cinch-Jones connectors to
my stock that I sold at trains shows, and did occasionally sell a few.  I
think my source still has them.
