I have updated my Standard Railway Castings Co. website again, this time to
post a Box Car Shell End Removal video.
Many of my kits require the modeler to remove the end from a styrene PRS shell
in order to apply a new urethane casting,
and it has taken me a while to appreciate that that does not come as easy to
some as it does to others. Now, this is my
first experience ever creating such a video, and my old digital camera that I
used was struggling to keep the image in
focus as I worked, but if it conveys the basic process then perhaps this
amateur video may be of some use. If you go to
my home page (srcc.redmansefarm.com) and click on the "Data, Tips, & Links"
page, you'll have the video right there.

I have also started to add pages for some additional parts coming down the
line. Molds for a 40' 12 panel 10'6" AAR box
car side and a 5/5/4 Improved Youngstown door will be finished in a matter or
hours. This will allow the modeling of
several series of ATSF AAR box cars (Bx-48, Bx-50, Bx-51, Bx-53, Bx-60, Bx-62,
and Bx-63,) while some D&RGW cars will
follow shortly after that. Not mentioned on the site are several new end
patterns that should be complete early next
week. More on that then...
