If they have two different product numbers and one is labeled scale wheels
then that product will have the scale wheels. I don't have a copy of the Lionel
catalog to check but did see scale wheel locos and non scale wheel locos listed
in the Lionel online store so they are definitely making some scale wheeled
product.
The only problem is that some folks don't realize that Lionel has been using
the term "scale" to denote a scale sized well detailed toy train since at
least 1937 when they produced their "scale" hudson. Their "scale" S stuff will
have nice well detailed scale bodies if Lionel follows their traditional
nomenclature but will have toy train wheels unless they are specifically listed
as a scale wheeled version.Not that hard to figure out once one understands
