Hey Andre;

I'm sure Don would consider some changes (like built in DCC) if he were 
re-issuing the switchers. Lets give MTH a chance, especially since the 
alternative was likely no more new SHS units, period.

Among Mel Perry's informative post were these

Those are some of the saddest words I've read to 
date.  No way to improve upon SHS's excellent SW/NW mechanism.  Simply 
excellent, it was.
 
The best one can hope for now in regards to an MTH, 
nee SHS, switcher is that they don't screw it up to the point it is no longer a 
viable model to consider as a switcher once the the all-important MTH goal 
of fitting in their proprietory system has been accomplished.
 
Very disheartening to read that MTH intends to 
re-engineer "perfection".
