Now that I have everything I need to finish my RDC I am experimenting with 2 things that are new to me. I am using the QSI RDC decoder. This decoder can be stereo but I have doubts I am going to do it. If you have experience with that maybe you can tell me that it is worthwhile.
I painted my RDC shells some time ago with the Alclad paint. Just after doing it, it was pointed out to me that most of the PRSL RDC did not have the snow plows. So off they will come but will be stripped and painted again. At least back then I found the Alclad paint to be very soft and easily worn off. I am going to experiment with decaling over the Alclad paint before I strip them. I have exchanged a few emails with Bob H on the subject. He cuts out each letter individually. I am NOT doing that to Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines - FOUR times! I want to see what if any clear coat can be applied without making it look worse. The Alclad paint looks amazingly like Stainless Steel.
