The Faller Car System, if it could be adapted to S scale layouts, would be
a huge enhancement to the scale. Just having a couple of vehicles could
add so much.

The main place I have seen them is on utube videos of that huge automated
HO layout in Germany. The only place I have seen them in the U.S. was on
the fantastic LaBaHa modular railroad at the Sacramento NMRA convention. I
thought this was the best layout at that show and the Faller Car system was
on reason.

How likely is it that this could be adapted to S scale? What vehicles
could be used? Any idea of costs?

Its time for some possibility thinking on this subject.

Faller makes a car system in HO and N scales where the vehicles follow a
buried guide wire and you can do "turnouts" and stops. It doesn't seem to
be that well known in North America, but I've thought of trying to adapt
the
HO scale mechanism to an S scale vehicle.

My problem is keep getting new ideas before I finished working on the last
one. But sometimes I need a break from laying track and wiring.
