Hi Jim;

FWIW, I checked the old Champ Freight Car Lettering Plan Book.

It's entry for the Oppenheimer Car says a light green car with boxcar red roof
and ends. It also notes arch bar or Andrews trucks and "Westinghouse"
airbrakes, which I suspect meant K style.

This is clearly an early 20th century car, no later than the ban on billboard
reefers in the early 1930s.

Thank Guys.  I found a Weaver car ;that also had d a red/brown roof, so I'm
thinking that's the way to go.  If it ultimately turns out to be wrong, I can
always put hi-rail wheels and big couplers on it

Cheers

I( checked back on the color lists that Gene Walp sent to me when he was
producing his line of sides. He used Red Ball artwork (and info) on most of the
S sides he did. For the Oppenheimer car, he listed roof and ends as brown.

PS: I now have put together an Excel spread sheet with a list of the Walp sides
I still have. If interested, drop me a note off list and I will forward you a
copy.
