I stand corrected, and plead guilty as charged. However, in my own defense I did not read the fine print in the online catalog regarding the DCS because I am already committed to DCC, plus in the image on my monitor it was too small, and in zoom mode it was barely legible due to distortion caused by the zooming. I wonder how reliable the self-sensing of the power will actually be, knowing that with DCC/DC it is known to cause occasional runaways. This is why most DCC users program their decoders to disable analog operation. My own experience with MTH's 3 rail DCS system has been that it suffers from similar issues with runaways due to "analog confusion" by the onboard decoder. Hopefully, there will be a way for DCC operators to disable all analog modes whether DC or AC, but I'm not holding my breath.
My main point however, was the complaint about the double whammy price increase the scale modelers must suffer due to the fact that both types of wheels are not included with the rolling stock. Percentage wise, the price increase from $300 to $379 on a loco is a little easier to take than the new price of an ore car with scale wheelsets at $72.90, up from SHS price of $39.95! Thanks Keith, for pointing out the fine print about the DCS electronics, I guess we'll all just have to wait and see how reliable it is or isn't.
