I am finally done the rework and have some new paint baking right now. Besides removing the pilots I added trust plates and a "closer" to correct air valve. The attached photos show the shell just after blasting.
I just painted the interiors Scalecoat Loco BLACK - like all of my passenger car interiors! I am only doing this ONE more time. The Alclad paint was rather resistant to being removed. I am sure I could not have done it without the blast booth. They spent a LOT of time in the blast booth getting super clean. The Alclad paint is going on after lunch!
