It is disheartening to hear when any company "gave S a try" and discontinued
their items. Many items that get made at the "cottage" level are because
THAT person wants that item themselves and will "share" selling some
quantity to offset production costs. Following YOUR heart is not always the
best business plan. You could have the world's best trolley poles for a
Chilean ore mine donkey but who else in the world would want that item too?

There has to be some responsible marketing and realistic projections if any
1 item will sell. Having someone say "I tried making stuff in S Scale and it
did not sell" is part of the story but by far not the WHOLE story.

I remember Korber that made a nice enginehouse and discontinued it before
most knew it existed - based on his ONE ad placed!

Bill Lane
