NMRA Atlanta Convention 2013

My "S" scale layout was open for tours two days and visited by the Bus Tour on
Monday. A total of 120 visitors, of which 50 were NMRA members, saw the layout.
I completed most of the scenery and powered several more turnouts with "Blue
Point" machines. The operation of the trains went quite smoothly and seemed to
be enjoyed by the visitors.
I had information flyers for those showing the most interest in the size and
availability of "S" trains for possibly joining the scale.
I gave three clinics; Clinchfield Railroad, Modeling Prototype Track and
Modeling Bridges, plus plugged the "S" gage modeling possibilities of the hobby.
The "National Train Show" following the convention had the NASG booth, well
stocked with the trains, accessories and knowledgeable people to answer
questions about the hobby.
Several vendors had "S" items displayed in their booths, such as MTH, Des
Plains Hobby, Motrak Models, Creative Laser Designs, Alpine Div. Scale Models,
Custom Trax and others whom I can't remember at the moment.
The local "S" group, Atlantic Coast S Gaugers- Ga. Div., had their huge modular
layout operating with both Hirail and scale trains all though the three day
show.
