Hello Andrew;

I found this 1/72 scale paper freighter on-line some time ago, planning to get
one as background for my dock scene.

If I have the room, I'll use extra parts to make the ship larger with a center
bridge. If no, if will server as is.

You can print it at 1/72 and it will probably work, or enlarge to true S scale
size (try that a resin kit!).

Hi Andrew:
On a whim I built one of the Sylvan HO tramp steamers (well its partly done)
and it could pass for S. It's huge needless to say and would take a lot of
layout space.
Sylvan has a number of HO scale ships and other companies have them as well.
cheers

ANDREW BAIRD included below]
Good evening! Finally have some track laid and now looking for some details to
add. Anyone know of any large dockside cranes available to add to the dock to
use for loading ships? I assume there is no large ships available in 1/64. Need
to build the dock scene around the tracks. Looking for any ideas and what
anyone has done or know of a scratchbuilder who builds these. I built it up on
2" foam and plan to add the pilings along the edge of the foam for the edge of
the piers. Obviously long way to go and lots of scenes to add all over the
layout.  Attached is one type of crane used to load ore into the boats. The
other cranes appear to be just the basic large booms. Other attachment is a
view of one area of the dock. Same concept but I am modeling a more modern era.
