Highrail.

American Models track, including the turnouts, is made with "code 148" rail.
That means it is made with rail 0.148 inches high. In a scale of 1/64, that
would represent rail about 9½ inches high. The highest rail known to man in
the real world was 8 inches high. The purpose of AM's over-scale rail is to
accomodate tinplate (AF) and highrail wheels.

Scale wheels will not run reliably thru AM switches.
