Rance:

I have had a double-slip switch in operation on SHABBONA RR for over twenty 
years. It took some special wiring and turnout linkage to operate properly, but 
direction is controlled by two ground throw switch throws.

I wrote an article describing the process for Model Railroader about the same 
time I made it operational, however, they never ran the article. The 
double-slip switch itself was an Old Pullman unit from Hoquat Hobbies.
