Sadly, K-Line ( China Inc ) "copied" an SHS truck, rather than introducing another style to the hobby. The cars were over sized and did appear that way in a train. PVMR ran a set one time, boxed them up, put them on a shelf . Some day we'll "sweep out" the barn and they will go. Every summer the PRR took hundreds of stock cars out of livestock service and cleaned them up to haul tomatoes, primarily from Washington Boro, ( Lancaster County ) PA, to Camden, NJ. Said to be the only time most of the cars got any service at all. "Car knockers" avoided the cars as much as possible. Sadly, Campbells Soup discovered cheaper tomatoes in Italy, even when shipped across the ocean and the tomato business all but totally disappeared in a single season. That was in the sixties. Hurt lots of small farmers, truckers, etc. Jim "fueled the trucks" Lyle In a message dated 8/12/2013 5:15:27 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
As to having Marx make S, K-Line had the old Marx tooling and did put hi-rail S trucks and couplers
