I just chuck in a piece of wood to spread the sideframes a bit. Paint the wood black and you'll never notice it plus it sort of duplicates a spring plank that was common on many trucks. I will generally do only one truck as they might roll just a bit too easily. It doesn't take too much for trucks to roll 30 foot on a couple of my long grades.

Maybe this has been answered before, but what is the fix for sideframes on SHS trucks that toe-in at the bottom? I'm having this problem with scale wheelsets in the roller bearing sideframes.
