I have now completed an exhaustive search (and I'm exhausted) of a bunch of Internet lodging services. Here is what I found.
For hotels actually in York: Expedia.com - nothing Travelocity.com - nothing Orbitz.com - nothing Hotels.com - nothing ase.net - Red Roof Inn for $79.99 travelhero.com - Red Roof Inn for $79.99 (Same exact room as ase.net) Some simply listed only two York hotels. Others didn't acknowledge the existence of the Red Roof in York, but listed ones in other cities. Rooms 17-25 miles away were the same price or higher. InnYork.com lists a group of Bed & Breakfasts. They are higher in price, have 2 - 4 rooms and are booked well in advance. According to Tom Powers, the operator of the Cycle Inn, a B&B in York, the Spring show is never as well attended as the Fall and his reservations reflect that.
