Michael, the pilot truck on the Royal Blue type locos is not interchangeable with any other Flyer pilot truck..
The wheelbase is shorter, the design is different, and the mounting is different, as the stud is mounted in a stamped metal plate screwed to the loco body.. This truck often tracks badly, whether it is original or repro. The truck frame is stamped metal. Mounting a piece of lead inside it may help. The block of lead should not touch the axles.
