Just a note to say hey from a new member of this group. I live in the Chicago suburbs and regularly attend trains shows from both the Midwest TCA and the GATS at DuPage County Fairgrounds once a month. It is nice to be able to find a group of fellow Flyer nuts online -- there is a lot of valuable information here for me. Both of those shows are nice, but way toooo much Lionel and not enough AF.
Just a thought -- has anyone ever/recently made an attempt to buy the American Flyer brand from Lionel -- someone that would really do something with it? Seems to me Lionel might be holding down the number of AF products to place greater importance on and lead new collectors to its own stuff. Any thoughts?
