Well folks, we can move the K-Line rumor to fact.
K-Line will be coming out with S gauge in their next
catalogue. I ran into Maury Klein at the Neuse River
Model Railroad Show in Raleigh yesterday and he would
not deny the rumor, and said to look for their next
catalog. One of his distribution-center employees,
who sells K-Line at shows, went further to indicate
this is indeed true. Also, one of Maury's best
friends, who is an American Flyer collector and also
was a vendor at the show and with whom Maury spent a
considerable amount of time st the show, beamed with
joy when I asked him about the K-Line rumor.

In talking with another individual, it was indicated
that this might be current K-Line cars with S gauge
trucks. However, some of their cars are based on 3/16
inch cars.

I encouraged Maury to offer a beginner set. The
dealer mentioned the Bershire and Big Boy. I guess we
will just have to wait and see.

Maury spent some time walking along and admiring the
26 by 38 foot S gauge layout in operation by the
Carolinas Division of the Atlantic Coast S Gaugers,
although he did not stop and talk with any of our
members.

Finally, the K-Line production of AF track is finally
completed and sitting in a warehouse in China. Maury
indicated that it will arrive in time for Christmas,
but this seems unlikely. K-Line has been out of the
track (straight, wide radius curve, and extra long
straights) for about 6 months.
