Yo:

That's a bummer. I really don't like the idea of taking an existing k-line
o-gauge car and converting it to S-gauge. I actually don't really like even
Lionel's S-gauge stuff.

The stuff coming out of all the other S-gauge manufactures (S-Helper,
American Models, Des Planes just to name a few is the stuff they should be
comparing with and building like.

I'm a hi-rail operator and have purchased a ton of stuff over the past 4
years. Prior to that I was purchasing a ton of stuff in O-gauge. I really
like the direction that S is going, more detail, better quality, better
operating reliability.

Build a K-line on S-wheels doesn't cut it for me. I my opinion, if K-line
does that they will fail in the S market.

Subject: [S-Trains] More on K-Line S Gauge

I just received the following information from K-Line.
Not as promising as I would like, but might be a step
in the right direction. I pleaded with Maury on
Saturday for an entry-level S gauge set. Apparently,
not just yet.

<Hi: It appears we are doing multi road names on a
<boxcar and a tank car. These are our small series
<freights for which we have updated and designed S
<gauge trucks and couplers. We have no locomotive in
<the works now nor will the Big Boy be offered in S
<gauge. The cars are larger than Gilbert, but should
<find acceptance at some level-perhaps entry.

Now it will be up to the S gauge community to see if
they support this effort and, unlike Lionel, perhaps
make it grow--or whether they will dismiss it as more
Lionel "O gauge with S trucks".
