Dear List:
Since I am (as usual) about two weeks behind, I wasn't going to
chime in.
However:
If it has been on my layout to contribute buildings and other items
for the AF to run around, under, into, or through, then I am interested in
talking about it here.
I can walk to my two Kenner Panel Builder sets. I moved them two
weeks ago. They have steel blue girders. (The reissue several years later
had primer-red.) In the late 1960s they, a good AF pacific, red light
bulbs, and red tissue paper provided a smoking building on fire for my
Matchbox fire station's Matchbox fire trucks to go to!
In the late '70s my Lego provided a functional bridge spanning a 12
inch gap in the bench work. I always worried the weight of a 336 would
collapse it but it never did.
Signal bridges and even RR cars can be built with Lego. (The
flanges are as AF Switch incompatible as Ertl's.)
Packing tape and later adding machine tape provided roads. Adding
machine tape still provides roads.
My engine house from 1972 - 1978 was built from wooden blocks. A
piece of plywood provided the roof for this two track engine house. I had
working catenary running into it! Best engine house I have ever had! (Now
I have a scale model but the blocks were more fun.)
Plasticville provided more buildings.
Life-Like provided trees.
I haven't but others have built accessories with Erector sets. (And
with six sets, I could too.) I do have a Erector track cleaning car under
construction and it will use Flyonel trucks from 1989.
I did not use the American Logs, Tinker Toys, Montini, nor Lionel Blocks
with the trains so they are 'off topic'. (American Logs look like square
Lincoln Logs. Lionel Blocks are an early 1960s imitation Lego. They are
compatible.)
And NONE of these items came from the Train Lines of the A.C. Gilbert
company!
But because they were used with my AF, they are, to me, 'on topic' for this
discussion list.

the molds.

Actually, not. I never had no stinkin' bricks.
All I had was American Flyer trains.
