It was an OK account of Gilberts early years. But the movie was full
of omissions and mistakes. They made NO mention of his two daughters
at all. They had him retrieving unsold Erector sets at the beginning
of the movie at a time when cars did not exist. This is too early as
he did not invent Erector until 1913, and cars were well established
by then. They never mentioned the name of the company, Mysto
Manufacturing. He actually started out with magic, and they showed
him doing some tricks, but neglected ALL of that part of History
which lead up to him getting into toys and Erector in the first
place. His home was wrong, he had a Tudor style home. If you really
want to get pickey the electric fans in the factory were late 40's
vintage. Further, A.C. was a tall skinny man, and Jason Alexander
didn't even come close to his physical make up as he is shorter and
pudgey. Of course the movied ended well before A.C. approached
Coleman about American Flyer so all we got as train fans was a brief
mention at the end that he later got into toy trains. Nice story, but
lacking a lot.
