Hi Guys, I sent the following email to CTT. Lets see if we get an apology.

You told the Lionel guy who purchased the American Flyer 16B transformer that it was not normal for 4 volts to be passing through the variable terminals when the transformer was "off". . The 16B had a "dead man" control. You had to lift the handle completely to cycle the reverse units (Flyer guys never say "E-Unit"). If you simply turned the rheostat handle to "0 mph", there would still be 4 volts coming through the variable terminal compared to base (to use Flyer terminology again). Thus, you could stop a train at a station, and then start it again in the same direction without cycling through the reverse unit. This works fine with original Flyer, because the engine will not run at 4 volts, but the reverse unit will not cycle. With SHS or AM engines, however, while the reverse unit will not cycle, the newer can motors may still allow the engine to creep along. When will you learn to talk to a "Flyer guy" before you answer a question about Flyer!!!!? If the Lionel guy doesn't want that 16B, have him send it to me. Your credibility with Flyer operators is now at an all time low. We want an apology and a vow to sin no more.
