I would like to comment about Train Shows....Having gone to Hundreds since
1982...And having put on shows myself back in the 80's ( Was A good way to
make money )...I find that shows like the GATS, Greenburg, York, TCA Shows,
Etc. all have some stuff...But when I go there I really don't expect to find
much and I rarely do!!!!...However just about every time I find A lot of
good stuff it is at one of the small Shows....This is where the people seem
to come out of the "Hills or woodwork as some would say"...Tables are
cheap...10 - 20 instead of 50 - 75....Like at Daytona about 3 years
ago...499 in the box...200...Cattle loader in the box 75...spent 800.00
before I left him...Ocala...out of 5 or 6 visits I have spent anywhere from
700 - 1000 at these shows....The last show produced an 342 dc...nice for 300
( no dc on cab)...I remember passing A 21084 and 21085 for 100 for both not
too long ago....was grabbing to much other stuff from the guy....Nice 970 in
ob - 30 cars 5-8 etc....Besides another guy had offered me all his flyer at
1/2 off earlier.....To sum it all up....If you are looking for good
deals...FIND AND TRY THE SMALL SHOWS !!! Get and look at the model
railroader or railroad model craftsman mags for show schedules...You just
never know what will turn up where...Hit A real good pile of Lionel, and
bought all at A GUN SHOW once...I bet most of the other guys have the same
experience too....Bob
