Surly there must be SOMETHING one could use on an old Flyer steamer to make it shine.  
You guys use high-grade paste wax on antique cars.  C'mon, David.  Give it up.  What 
is the secret formula? :) :)

  Speaking from a Museum Curator's point of view, I would not use either
  product on my trains--I don't even allow Armor-all on my property! Main
  reason is because they contain Silicone, which causes problems long-term. A
  dilute solution of detergent (and I mean DILUTE) is what I use. I haven't
  found the black paint to be a problem, but the lettering sure has to be
  handled with "kid gloves."
