Train Gang, The late Bill Jackson always recommended a Johnson Wax product called Klean 'n Shine for cleaning Flyer. I find it works wonders on old dirty steam engines and all plastic products. I spray it on then gently brush with a soft paint brush and/or toothbrush until the white foam is gone. The surface dries to a soft luster.
Bill also warned against Armor-all as David already stated. I use Goo Gone with a Q-tip to clean the gunk off of wheels. I've not noticed any harmful effects from this, but don't know. Goo Gone does have petroleum distillates in it and I know that can be harmful to plastics. Any thoughts?
