Thanks for a couple of chuckles from the latest digest.  Regarding DC
polarity reversing, if terminal A is +8 VDC with respect to terminal 
B and the reverse polarity switch is thrown, terminal A will be -8 VDC
with respect to terminal B.  It cannot get there by way of Anaheim, it
must go thru zero.  However, it may go thru zero too quickly for the 
reverse electronics to notice.  This is true on the SHS SW-9.

Regarding the length train needed at $100/car to finance a year of college
tuition, I saw the Virginia Division of ACSG run a 63 car train behind
3 Diesel units about 2 years ago.  If all 63 of those cars were sold for
$100 each, he would not be even close to the year's tuition at a private
college.
