Hi John: I am in the process of trying to figure out how to lay some BK code 125 closed frog switches. I have no experience, and have never laid a switch by myself. I've scanned a picture of one, and what I think it should look like (attached), just sort of dragging my feet on doing it - mainly because I am not sure or waiting for divine inspiration. I have made some wood roadbed to lay (glue) the ties on, and then I will spike the switch on the ties. As you can see from the attached picture, cutting the frog point at those two locations will isolate the frog so one doesn't get an electrical short later on. The pivot unit will then rotate about the pivot plate, making contact with the straight stock rail or the curved stock rail. In the former case (where the train goes on the curved section), the pivot unit will pick up the electrical power from the straight stock rail, and make the isolated frog unit the same polarity (again through contact). The polarity will then be the same as the rail through the left hand side of the curve. Conversely, when the pivot unit contacts the curved stock rail (train goes straight), then it will pick up the polarity of the curved stock rail and the polarity will go through the frog points and have the same polarity as the bottom rail in the picture as the train goes straight. I think a weak point will be that the electricity is handled only through contact points. I think I have seen some wiring of the frog points recently, and I will have to look for it. That is probably what I am waiting for at this time.
Maybe we will get some answers and pictures from people who have done this before (I hope). I hope what I have said is right and understandable, but we will find out!
