Hi Steve or Sorry Steve, This is a tease, as my 21129 has two steps missing and you can't have it!! O:)!!!
No money in the world will make me part with it! It has more meaning to me than that. O:)! I too, am looking for a four step tender, as that will be a tuff fine! This 21129 is from my childhood and it was in a repair shop in 1974, at the biggest train shop in D.C., Model Railroad Center of Rockville and they promptly went out of business a month later, after I took it in, and they took everything with them, including my 21129, that I didn't know was a rare piece, but that didn't matter as it is from childhood. Thanks to Reds Hobby Shoppe in Wheaton, MD., I got it back, as Reds is now gone too. That set, 20740 with the engine, had a cost of $75 in 1958, which was a ton of money back then, especially since 1958 was a recession year, also. I know that average yearly incomes in 1970 was 11,000, as I can image what it was for 1958! Of course, homes and auto's were almost nothing in comparison to today. I tracked him down through Red's Hobby Shoppe who gave me his home number. Stewart Davidson of the closed Shoppe said it wasn't done yet and I would check back with him from time to time, as finally in 1984 or so, I called him with the intention of just asking for it back and he said it was done! A whopping 8 dollar repair for the pull mor wheels that separated! I got back into flyer in 1992 and was surprise to learn about this set, as the two flat cars were 3 digit. I do have those in 5 now. The set was so new, with the five digit items, that the tender came in a weird looking corrugated box, with the ends, cut to shape and stapled for the protection of the couplers and the box for the 25052 caboose has a handwritten flap. I have a LN 21130 with 3 steps with the attached tender and a crappy 21130 painted up one with the removable tender with no steps. We have to keep searching as you never know where you will find one! Good luck with it Steve, Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2003 11:48 PM Subject: Re: [S-Trains] 21130 tender > In a message dated 01/14/2003 8:36:33 PM Mountain Standard Time, > [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: > > > Does anybody know were i can find a tender shell for a hudson 21130 thats > > has all 4 steps?????????????????? > > > Shoot, I'm looking for one for a 21129.
