To all that responded, Thanks.

I have taken your advice: the new plywood is out of my house. I also
evicted the normal wood I purchased on that trip in October.

(For those of you joining this story in progress, I purchased a sheet of
plywood in October which had gotten wet. It has been slowly drying out in
my basement ever since. As it dries out it is releasing sap and other
'things' into the air. This has been making my family and I sick.
Also, I used the term 'green' to imply 'new' or 'not seasoned'.
Many people got excited and thought I meant 'green' as in 'insecticide
treated'. THAT stuff is toxic and dangerous. The leftovers from the kid's
sandbox project lives in the garage.)

I build my layouts from plywood, small blocks of real wood, and screws. No
glue. Occasionally I use a longer board of real wood. This board is used
with the plywood to form a 'T' and it can span up to 8 feet.
This morning I went down, removed all of the screws, and tossed the
wood onto the patio behind my house.

This section of the layout is just a 'get from here to there' without
scenery. It is a connector. I will rebuild this connector only this time I
will use either old pine or hardwoods. The new challenge is to find a
source for hardwood plywood and other boards in the Milwaukee, WI area.

But that is my problem.

Thanks again for all of the help. My family is feeling better already.
Thorin
