I just got back from a train show. Naturally there wasn't much Flyer available. 
However there was one dealer who had two of the most sought after sets.....the Union 
Pacific and the Northern Pacific. Heanted $550 for the UP and $500 for the NP. The 
engines and cars were in great shape, no broken parts etc. There were a few 
steps...portholes missing. Here's the thing, they were both repainted. The UP set had 
a B unit with it in addition to the AA and the NP had an extra vista dome car I think. 
Now...would any of you buy those? Someone there suggested I would be better off buying 
the reissues.  I would say they are excelllent for the operator with a little 
detailing. One thing...the name plats on the UP set were chipped so it is possible 
those weren't repainted.
