Was the news that K-Line would offer a set in "S" what woke up the Big "L" people? It looks like they are going to offer more than in the past.
I've said for ten years that the Baldwin was a loco they should build if for no other reason than that they re-power everything anyhow and the Baldwin was what needed a re-power job the most. The station and such can sell to their 3 rail people as well, but an operating car is only for us in "S", (or those who buy K-Line's set). They'll sure have the add on stuf to help make K-Line's set more attractive, yet line the pockets of Big "L"'s people. But, looking back to 1998, I have to wonder if that stuff will ever show up. If a dealer has 50 orders, will he need to order 100 in order to get enough to fill his 50 customers orders? Will a customer need to place orders at two dealers in order to have a chance one will be able to have one for him? Will they perhaps build only enough to fill advance orders? They have been doing better at building what they say they will, late perhaps, but they do build it, but still sometimes not as many as a dealer had ask for. So, when I place an order, I have to wonder if I'll get one, even if they do come in. To me, this is the most attractive line up they've offered. As I started this, what got them to even catalog this much? (Even if some should turn out to be what compurer people call "vapor ware".) jfred --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
