The crack through the screw hole in the 5 digit Flyer Baldwin is partly caused by the fact that the reverse unit is mounted so high that it pushes against the top of the body.
There are two sets of screw holes in the 5 digit reverse unit, an upper pair and a lower pair. They were always mounted in the Baldwin using the lower screw holes. If you remount he reverse unit so it is held by the upper screw holes, the reverse unit will ride lower, though still plenty high enough to clear the track. But by now, it's probably too late. Fortunately, that crack is usually easy to repair and conceal. Tom Jarcho S-Trains list sponsor: http://www.americanflyertrains.com All the Flyer you desire...books and accessories too!
