Dear Ted:
I would do what I am doing to get my UP diner. I wanted a diner
that met this simple criteria. All in one diner with the kitchen at one end
and tables at the other. No multi-car diners like the SP had. (Tables,
kitchen, tables in three, articulated cars!)
Dennis found one in the City of Los Angeles.
I ordered the thin sides from Dennis ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). Then I got an
unpainted smoothside car from Ron of American Models in August of last year.
(I asked.) As I am not modeling any specific Union Pacific train, I didn't
care if they were accurate or not for the UP. I told Dennis the choice of
diner was up to him. Dennis went hunting and found such diner in the COLA.
He made me sides.
The sides are very nice. They have small dimples where all of the handrails
should go eliminating that guess work.
On Sunday I put the sides into the box with the shell. (The AM box
Ron sent it to me in is marked Heavyweight Scale and contains an
unassembled, black plastic, highrail, streamliner coach.)

It has been suggested that Dennis and I manufacture passenger cars to
conserve the AM streamliners. Let's put this one to rest. I don't have the
time and if I did, I would manufacture electrics.
I haven't even made MY diner, much less painted it.
