HEY........WAS JUST FUNNIN........OK 1. Get a good map of the United States, from AAA or others...you should be able to find one about 24" x 12" in one piece...I have several around here.. 2. Draw a box around it...enclosing the area you want to include.. 3. Go to Kinky Kopies and make A couple of copies in the reduction / enlarge modes until you get 20" x 10".... 4. Divide the box by say 30 for 3000 miles...each box will be 100 miles...you can use an engineering scale for this.... 5. Also, with A good AAA map there should also be a scale somewhere on it ....Just use it with a piece of paper...IE...Make a temporary scale... 6. Don't forget that ALMOST all maps are flattened projections and the shortest distance between two points is usually A curve....
Reminds me..... A man went hunting....He set up his camp...Next morning he went 10 miles due south...no luck....He then went 10 miles due east....Found a Bear...Shot it...and drug it back to camp which was exactly 10 miles.....What color was the Bear???? I appreciate the information along with the sarcasm. There is something positive in anything, one just has to look. I am trying to scale the size to about 20' X 10.' I know you, being an architect can help with this. My question was to get distances of the contiguous United States, i.e., distance from Maine to Florida, Maine to Washington State, Florida to California, etc. Seriously, if you or anyone you have contact with knows of a location online I might be able to find these distances, I can scale accordingly. I'm a carpenter, we have to build what you guys draw. Carlton S-Trains list sponsor: http://www.americanflyertrains.com All the Flyer you desire...books and accessories too!
