Plastic should not be in the frog of turnouts. I am planning to make a switch that will work with scale and AF trains.
For my own use only. I would need a large order to get me to mass produce it. Instead of putting plastic in the frog I will have a gap in the rails. The switch machine will switch the power ( left to right) so there will not be a short circuit. There have been many articles on this subject so I am not going to go over it. What amazes me is. How come the guys making this in volume can't do it? Even it is just for scale?
