First, the tankcars;

>From the illustration, these seem to be from marx's "deluxe" (per
Greenberg)line. The tank itself is a believable size for S scale. So
is the ladder. The chassis is a little wide (unless K-Line has
narrowed it) for S by about 1/8th inch as I recall. I already have 3
of these which I converted to S over a decade ago. One is a Penn
Salt, even!

Boxcars;

It's not conclusive which boxcar mold K-Line is using for these. The
original 3/16th" scale plastic boxcar was a "medium grade" car with
molded on doors, so if they did use the 3/16th" scale tooling, it's
been altered. Unfortunately, the proportions of the illustration look
like that of Marx's "deluxe" boxcar. They had opening doors alright,
but were NOT 3/16th" scale, being a bit too wide.

Let's hope the production trucks look as good as the pix. WAY better
AND fewer $ than Flyonel.
