A possible misinterpretation here, Joe.

I understand your point about inexpensive rolling stock for kids, but the kid
I am buying for is me(!). I wish to maintain the Gilbert feel for my
traditional postwar style trains and use SHS rolling stock for Modern Era
high rail trains. And, by the way, Flyonel is selling -- that's why Lionel is
ramping up their offerings and doing a new steam engine, and why K-Line is
attracted to the fold. I will reserve final judgment until I see them, but
converted 0-27 rolling stock with a Marx feel is not going to do it for me in
S gauge (or in 0 gauge for that matter). The next run of AF boxcars/reefers
will be about $35 and the new crane car about $49 (example "street" prices)
which are not ruinous.

The great thing is that the choices at long last are rapidly expanding.
